Our guest speaker for the evening will be Sir Ranulph Fiennes, who is arguably still the “World’s Greatest Living Explorer” after being described as this in 1984 by the Guinness Book of Records. In 2003, Sir Ranulph ran 7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 days, a feat made all the more astonishing given that he undertook this only 3 and half months after suffering a massive heart attack and double bypass operation. Most recently, in May 2009, he reached the summit of Everest, the oldest Briton ever to do so.
Following the dinner Sir Ranulph will be available for book signings. There will be an opportunity to purchase his books after the dinner so no need to try to squeeze a copy into your sporran or handbag when you leave the house! In addition, there will be a “fun” casino so plenty of opportunity to network and mingle with colleagues, friends and family. All proceeds raised on the evening from our traditional charity raffle and the casino will go to SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health) and the Insurance Charities.

INSURANCE SOCIETY OF EDINBURGH SPORTS CLUBS
FOOTBALL CLUB
Have you ever dreamed of representing your area at football – now is your chance.
Its time to resurrect the Insurance Society of Edinburgh Football Club. There is a long and proud history of the Edinburgh Institute Football club playing a very sociable and active role in promoting the interest of the society through a regular football game.
The intention for the Football Club is ultimately to have a league format and regular competitions against the other institutes in Scotland and beyond. However, we need to walk before we can run and therefore we are very keen to hear from anyone working within the sector who would be interested in playing a regular football game to get the ball rolling – so to speak……
You may already be part of your own work team, an individual wanting to join a team or just with a keen interest in playing football and socialising with other like minded colleagues. Ability is no boundary and all levels are welcome along and we are looking forward to hearing from you.
If you are interested in playing or would like more information contact Stuart George on 07876791632 or email sgeorge@heathlambert.com
