Local Awards

Every January the Insurance Society of Edinburgh's Education Committee reviews the results of those completing their CII examinations locally during the previous calendar year. Below is an outline of the awards made to recognise the achievements of members and students linked to the Insurance Society of Edinburgh. These are not to be confused with national prizes available from the CII.

Criteria

 The President's Quaich

 

Awarded at the President's discretion to any candidate for their personal achievement in attaining their professional qualification.

 The Marsh Shield

 

Awarded to the best overall candidate that has completing their Advanced Diploma in Insurance in the calendar year and is a current member of the Insurance Society of Edinburgh.

 The Standard Life Shield

 

Awarded to the best overall candidate that has completing their Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning in the calendar year and is a current member of the Insurance Society of Edinburgh.

 Diploma in Insurance

 

Awarded to the top 3 candidates completing their Diploma locally and achieving an average pass mark of over 65%.  The award category is open to non members.

 Diploma in Financial Planning

 

Awarded to the top 3 candidates completing their Diploma locally and achieving an average pass mark of over 65%. The award category is also open to non members.

 Certificate in Insurance

 

Awarded to the top 3 candidates completing their Certificate locally and achieving an average pass mark of over 80%.  The award category is also open to non members.

 Certificate in Financial Planning

 

Awarded to the best candidate completing their Certificate locally  and achieving an average pass mark of over 80%.  The award category is open to non members.
